NEW DELHI: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has issued the model answer key for the JECA and JELET exam 2024 for admission to MCA and BE, BTech, BPharm courses. Candidates will have to key in their application number and password generated during the registration process to access the WBJEE answer key through the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in.

Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable WBJEE answer key challenge fee of Rs 500 per question challenged. The final answer key will be released after reviewing the answer key objections, the board said. The answer key challenge window will close on July 14.

The WBJEE JELET 2024 was held in OMR-based common entrance test from June 21 to June 29. The exam had two papers - paper 1 was for diploma in engineering, technology or BSc candidates and paper 2 for diploma in pharmacy candidates.

JECA was held for admission into Master of Computer Application (MCA). This paper has a total of 100 questions divided into two categories. Category 1 had 80 questions carrying 1 mark each and every incorrect answer will lead to deduction of 1/4th mark and category 2 had 20 questions carrying 2 marks and there is no negative marking.

Scoring methodology

Category 1

  • Only one option is correct.
  • Correct response will yield 1 mark for each question.
  • 25% or 1/4th marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.
  • For any combination of more than one option, even if it contains the correct option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield negative marks.
  • Not attempting the question will fetch zero mark.

Category 2

  • One or more options is/are correct.
  • Two marks will be awarded for marking all correct options.
  • For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect, and it will yield 0 mark even if one or more of the chosen options is/are correct.
  • For partially correct answers, ie., when all correct options are not marked and also no incorrect options are marked, marks awarded = 2 × (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).
  • Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.
