XLRI Jamshedpur appoints new director, dean of academics

Sebastian George is appointed as the new director of XLRI Jamshedpur and Sanjay Patro is appointed as the new dean of academics.
NEW DELHI: Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur has appointed Sebastian George as its new director and Sanjay Patro as the new dean of academics. George succeeded the former director Paul Fernandes, and Patro succeeded Ashish K Pani.
George is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur of the 1996 Batch, and was previously the director of XLRI Delhi NCR. According to XLRI, he has more than 14 years of experience in management education. Leadership and personnel effectiveness are his research area interests. He have worked with the Xaviers fraternity for many years in various capacities.
"It feels good to be back to the same campus where I’ve spent my college days. I look forward to the support of all the faculty members, staff members, and students. We will together work towards the interest of the Institute. We have a well-set vision to bring a change in the economy and society at large. The institute always strives to be a management school with a difference. We will together look forward to inspiring young minds and creating more responsible leaders,” said George.

Patro has been working with XLRI Jamshedpur since the last 25 years as a professor of marketing. He has also worked with other premier management institutes. Product management, brand management, strategic planning, business development, marketing strategy and research are his areas of teaching, research and consulting.
