AICTE launches 500 ATAL Faculty Development Programmes for FY 2024-25

NEW DELHI: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) chairman has launched the AICTE training and Learning Academy (ATAL) Faculty Development Programs (FDP) for the financial year 2024-25. The ATAL FDP was launched by AICTE chairman TG Sitharam at AICTE HQ, New Delhi.

During the launch of the ATAL FDPs, Sitharam emphasized the significance of Faculty Development Programs in providing high-quality training to faculty members, postgraduate students, research scholars, and industry professionals so that they gain an understanding of their field and acquire the necessary skills applicable in real-world scenarios with industry integration. Additionally, he highlighted that through these FDPs, participants not only enhance their career prospects but also develop a sense of responsibility towards community welfare and nation-building.

500 FDPs proposed

This year, a total of 500 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) are planned to be conducted in both Basic and Advanced formats through offline mode. The Basic FDP, spanning six days, will encompass 450 programs. These will consist of 250 for UG, PG or research institutions, 100 for polytechnics, and 100 for newly included BBA or BCA Institutions.

On the other hand, the Advanced FDPs, spanning twelve days (two weeks), will collaborate with industries and include 50 programs tailored for research scholars, faculty members, and industry professionals with prior exposure to the subject.

Grant support from AICTE

AICTE-approved institutions have the opportunity to apply for ATAL Faculty Development Programs covering various disciplines such as engineering and technology, management, design, hotel management and catering technology, applied arts and crafts, planning, and computer applications. AICTE will offer a grant of Rs 3.50 lakhs per basic FDP and Rs 6 lakhs per advanced FDP, distributed in two installments. Interested institutions can submit their applications to conduct FDPs from April 25, 2024, to May 24, 2024.
