AIIMS Delhi appoints HOD Ratan Sharma to first 'professor-in-charge for student welfare' post

The professor-in-charge post will act as a liaison officer for the library of the institute facilities and hostel.
Professor Ratan Sharma has been assigned additional responsibility as professor-in-charge of the student or resident welfare at AIIMS Delhi with immediate effect. Professor Sharma is the current head of department (HOD), Physiology, AIIMS Delhi.

The tenure for the new post will be for three years or until such time as deemed fit by the competent authority.
“The work is in addition to her current duties and responsibilities. She will not be entitled to any extra remuneration/honorarium for the above additional assignment,” as per the official statement.

The professor-in-charge post will act as a liaison officer for the library of the institute facilities and hostel. She will also be in-charge of the section, gymkhana, student wellness centre, and facilities will be under the administrative control of the dean.
“The tenure authority of such assignments should be 3 years or until such time as deemed fit by the cooling-off period Further, after completion of the tenure, there should be a mandatory of one year. He/She will not be entitled to any extra remuneration/honorarium for the above additional assignment,” the official statement reads.
The professor-in-charge will check the overall (physical, emotional, social) well-being of students and residents.
