BSEB extends deadline for D.El.Ed joint entrance exam 2026 applications till January 9

Online application and fee submission window now open till January 9, 2026 through the Bihar Board’s website, biharboardonline.com
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has extended the deadline for submitting online applications and depositing the examination fee for the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) joint entrance examination, 2026, conducted for admission to the D.El.Ed. course for the academic session 2026–2028.
The earlier application window was scheduled from December 11 to December 24, 2025. However, in the interest of candidates, the Bihar Board has now extended the application and fee submission period from December 26, 2025, to January 9, 2026.

Bihar D.El.ED Joint Entrance Test: Eligibility criteria
The Bihar D.EI.Ed eligibility refers to the minimum criteria every applicant must fulfil to appear for the exam. Failing to meet the Bihar DElEd 2026 eligibility criteria will result in disqualification in later stages of the admission process. The eligibility criteria are the following:

Applicants must be at least 17 years old to be eligible for Bihar D.El.Ed admission 2026.

Candidates should have passed class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks.

SC, ST and other reserved category candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.

Candidates who studied at institutions offering urdu as the medium of instruction are considered eligible with 50% or above marks, while PwBD candidates are entitled to a 5% relaxation in the required aggregate.

As per NCTE-approved seat allocation, 10% seats are reserved for Urdu teachers, 5% for persons with disabilities, and 50% for candidates from arts, science, or commerce streams.
