NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the Class 12 Biology theory exam today, March 19. The exam was held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and the reporting time was 10 am. Students must ensure that they have their admit cards and required stationery when they take the exam. They must arrive at the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the exam begins.

The CBSE 12th Biology exam consists of five sections with a total of 33 questions. Section A contains 16 questions worth 1 mark each, Section B includes five questions worth 2 marks each, Section C comprises seven questions worth 3 marks each, Section D features two case-based questions worth 4 marks each, and Section E contains three questions worth 5 marks each. While there is no overall choice in the paper, internal choices are provided for certain questions. Students are required to draw neat and properly labeled diagrams whenever necessary.

According to Neha Gupta, HOD Biology, Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 BIOLOGY (044) paper was well balanced. As per students, the level of difficulty was moderate. The question paper was a balanced mix of knowledge, analysis, and application-based questions. Most of the students were able to complete the paper well in time. The biology exam was for 70 marks, to be attempted within 3 hours.

CBSE Class 12 Biology exam paper held today contained competency-based questions that made the students apply their acquired knowledge. The level of the paper was moderate. It was prepared in a way that those who have studied NCERT thoroughly will be able to perform well. The paper included practical application-based questions to assess the students' problem-solving skills. The instructions were clear and concise, making it easier for students to navigate through the paper and understand what was expected of them. The students may have felt confident in their ability to answer the questions due to familiarity with the paper pattern. The variety of questions allowed for a comprehensive assessment of their knowledge and skills.
Overall, the paper was well-balanced and favored students who had prepared diligently.

Sujata ,PGT Biology , KIIT World School, Gurugram, said Section- A featured a mix of Objective Type Questions covering both theory and application-based concepts. The final four questions in this section were Assertion and Reason Questions, testing students' comprehension and recall abilities. Section B contained few direct questions and was relatively easier. Section C presented a blend of theoretical and application-based inquiries, including a few analytical questions of moderate complexity. Section D contains two case based questions, which were easy to solve. Section E incorporated Competency Based Questions emphasizing application and analysis concepts.
The level of biology paper was moderate. MCQs were high scoring, however, a few subjective questions were tricky and required critical thinking. It was a balanced question paper which was a mix of application and memory-based questions. The questions ranged from simple to a little tricky but were mostly direct and simple. Overall, most questions were directly from the NCERT textbooks, which made it easier for students who had studied the prescribed syllabus thoroughly.
The CBSE 12th board biology exam answer key will be released soon on the official website, cbseacademic.nic.in. Students can also cross-check their answers by referring to the answer keys provided by various coaching institutes.
