CBSE Board Exams 2024: Class 12 mathematics syllabus, marking scheme, type of questions

Enrol NowNEW DELHI : For the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Class 12 board exams 2024, the mathematics syllabus will cover six units – relations and functions, algebra, calculus, vectors and three-dimensional geometry, linear programming, and probability. CBSE 12th mathematics exam 2024 will be conducted on March 9.
The weightage for the CBSE Class 12 mathematics exam 2024 will be 80 marks. Apart from the theory exam, an internal assessment for 20 marks will be conducted at school level.
As per the mathematics sample paper, the question paper will contain five sections – A, B, C, D and E. Each section will be compulsory, however, there will be internal choices in some questions. The section-wise type of questions and allotted marks are given below:
- Section A will include 18 multiple choice questions and 2 assertion-reason based questions of one mark each.
- Section B will have five Very Short Answer (VSA)-type questions of two marks each.
- Section C will consist of six Short Answer (SA)-type questions of three marks each.
- Section D will include four Long Answer (LA)-type questions of five marks each.
- Section E will contain three source based/case based/passage based/integrated units of assessment of four marks each with sub-parts.
