"The paper provided a balanced mix of challenge and opportunity for students to succeed and improve their skills. Although the multiple-choice questions posed no significant challenge, the majority of the questions were standard and not overly difficult", Sharma said.

Overall, students found the paper manageable. According to Sharma, the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) were notably straightforward and would likely result in high scores for students. The questions in Sections B, C, and D were easily practicable with a strong grasp of the NCERT material. However, providing detailed solutions would have been time-consuming.
The exam covered a diverse range of topics, and some questions were from past exams. The case studies in Section E demanded a deep comprehension of the subject matter. The basic paper was considerably simpler compared to the standard version. Overall, the CBSE Class 10 maths exam was moderately challenging as per analysis by students.
Set 3 questions more difficult as compared to other two
According to Benasir P A, TGT mathematics, JAIN International Residential School Bengaluru, Set 3 questions were more difficult than the other sets. He said, "It's commendable that the paper maintained consistency within question sets, ensuring fairness and preventing discrepancies in difficulty levels. However, Set 3 questions were slightly more challenging compared to Sets 1 and 2. Care should be taken to ensure that any increase in difficulty is reasonable and doesn't unfairly disadvantage students.
He further said, "In summary, the Grade 10 mathematics board exam paper provided a fair and balanced assessment opportunity. Moving forward, maintaining consistency in question sets, adjusting difficulty levels appropriately, and refining the distribution of question types will enhance the effectiveness of the assessment process.''
Case studies not from expected chapters
According to Alka Kapur, principal Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, the case studies were not from the expected chapters, introducing an additional layer of complexity. "Coupled with the overall lengthiness of the paper, this examination encourages us to appreciate the resilience and agility of our students in navigating unforeseen challenges, paving the way for a valuable learning experience," said Kapur.
