CBSE Class 12 chemistry exam easy; students expect high scores

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the CBSE Class 12 term 2 chemistry exam today, May 7, 2022, by 12:30 pm. Students felt the chemistry Class 12 paper was easy to moderate in the difficulty level and was a high-scoring paper, a chemistry teacher from Vidyagyan School in Uttar Pradesh told Careers360 .

The CBSE board exam 2022 Class 12 chemistry exam was held between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, giving two hours for the students to attend the exam. Students are hopeful of scoring high marks in the Class 12 CBSE board exam 2022 chemistry paper. "Overall the question paper was easy to moderate on the difficulty level. 60% of the questions were straight out of the exercises mentioned in the textbook and rest were slightly modified," said Ashok Kumar, a chemistry teacher from Vidyagyan School. According to him, students reacted pleasantly to the exam as they felt the exam was easy and they were able to complete the paper well within the stipulated time, and are expecting good marks.

According to Sarita Khokhar, HOD of Chemistry, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, the CBSE chemistry class 12 exam was similar to the CBSE sample paper in terms of pattern and difficulty level. She said that the questions asked in the paper were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. "The questions were mostly direct and everything was from the NCERT book for Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. If the student read and practised questions from the NCERT thoroughly, they would be able to score really well," she said. Khokhar further said that the numerical calculations in the CBSE Class 12 chemistry exam today were simple and straightforward, and it did not require a lot of calculation, and students could answer the questions in the chemistry paper within the allotted duration.

As per Khokhar's CBSE 12 chemistry exam review, most questions from the organic chemistry part of the exam came from the NCERT book. The difficulty level of these questions, according to her ranged from easy to moderate. Inorganic chemistry, on the other hand, mostly had reasoning questions which were directly derived from the NCERT book. "A thorough reading of the book and clear concepts would ensure full marks in the same. The paper was a balanced and perfect mix of application and memory-based questions. Students were very anxious in the morning and seemed stressed, but they looked relaxed and happy after the exam," she claims.
