Download NowThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 students waiting to apply for re-evaluation have filled social media platform 'X' with their griviances and questions against board. Class 12 revaluation and answer sheet portal continue to face technical issues even after the board announced that services would resume by 2 pm on May 20. Many claim that they are unable to access scanned copies of answer sheets, submit verification requests, or apply for re-evaluation despite waiting for hours. The portal continues to display “under updation” message long after the scheduled restoration time. Students are now questioning the preparedness of the board in implementing the On-Screen Marking (OSM) process while facing technical glitches during the post-result application stage.
One user wrote, "It's still under updation, CBSE is frauding all of us and wasting our precious time,we have to do strike now to get justice by passing all the students of class 12 and give grace marks to all the students whom u have failed, CBSE you can't waste our year." Another user replied, "CBSE now just accept that you are incapable and take some responsibility."
A section of students also linked the issue to concerns over result verification timelines and college admissions by pointing out that delays in accessing answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation could impact admission-related processes.

Meanwhile, CBSE had earlier acknowledged the technical problem and said that a team of experts was working to resolve the issue. The board assured students that all eligible candidates would be provided adequate opportunity to apply for scanned copies, verification, and re-evaluation once the portal becomes fully functional. The board also extended the deadline for downloading scanned copies of Class 12 answer books till May 23, 2026. Students dissatisfied with their marks will be allowed to apply for verification and re-evaluation between May 26 and May 29, 2026.
Students ask new timeline
A user (claiming to be teacher) posted, "Students invest years of hard work and their future opportunities depend heavily on these results. A system that creates widespread disappointment and confusion needs introspection and corrective measures. Link is still not accessible /unresponsive/ 4:30 on 20.05.2026. It is more than two hour past 2 pm. Is there any new timeline." Students are accusing CBSE of wasting their half day and highlighted the mental health issues that students are facing.

Roll back OSM
The demand to roll back the OSM system is once again trending on X after students faced issues while applying for re-evaluation. Earlier, the board had conducted a press conference to announce the reduction in re-evaluation fees and defend the OSM system by citing examples of educational institutions across the world that follow similar evaluation methods.
A Class 12 student commented, "If your own website is facing technical glitches, then how were you so confident about implementing the OSM process? Online checking systems should only be used for online exams. This entire system is extremely disappointing. #rollbackosm". To this, people have started questioning CBSE over who actually failed here? The students who studied all year, or the entire governing body that can’t keep a basic website running during application week."
CBSE has not posted a revised timeline yet.
