CTET 2024 registration deadline extended to April 5; applicability, correction dates

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date to submit application form for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2024) to April 5. Aspirants who wish to be teachers of Classes 1 to 8 will have to appear in the CTET July exam 2024 to get the eligibility certificate.

Candidates will now be able to register for CTET 2024 July session on the official website, ctet.nic.in, till April 5. “The last date for submission of online Applications for CTET-July,2024 has been extended upto 05/04/2024 (Before 11:59 PM). Applicant facing any technical issue while filling CTET application form may contact : 8802580447,” the latest update read.

As per the schedule, the CTET July exam 2024 will be held on July 7 in two shifts - paper 2 will be held in the first shift from 9.30 am to 12 noon and paper 1 in the afternoon shift from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

CTET qualifying certificate is valid for a life time for all categories. The scores are applicable in the following institutions.

• CTET scores are applicable to central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Central Tibetan Schools, and
• Schools under the administrative control of Union Territory of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman-Diu and Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep and NCT of Delhi.
• CTET certificate is also considered valid by the unaided private schools
• Schools owned and managed by the state governments, local bodies, and aided schools may consider the TET conducted by the state government. However, a state government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the state TET.

According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes 1 to 8 in the schools affiliated to the board should be CTET-qualfied or TET held by state government in accordance with the NCTE guidelines.
