NEW DELHI: The Delhi University will resume physical classes from tomorrow, September 15. All the colleges will start practical classes for the final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate students. However, online theory classes will continue to be held. Also, attending physical classes is not mandatory for the students.
The registrar at Delhi University announced in a notice on September 6 that DU will reopen colleges in a phased manner from September 15. The decision was taken following the safety guidelines issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

“Any plan of transition to offline mode must take into account the prevailing conditions and the specific requirements of the concerned institutions, allowing it to deal with any eventuality arising due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the notice said.
According to the guidelines issued by the university on college reopening, all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff should be vaccinated with both doses.
While the university decided to reopen libraries from September 6 to distribute books, it said that date-time-slot appointments would be provided before allowing students to enter the libraries.
The offline classes will be held with 50 percent attendance following rotation. Only those practicals that are absolutely essential to the semester course can be selected.
The heads of the institutions need to ensure that at any given time, attendance of 50% is not exceeded. All the colleges, departments and centres need to ensure that proper COVID-19 protocols are followed.
