NEW DELHI:
The All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE, has issued a revised academic calendar for technical institutions. As per the revised calendar, the last date for the grant of approval to technical institutions has been extended to June 15, also extending the deadline for engineering counselling dates and affiliation dates.
As per the revised calendar, the first round of counselling for allotment of engineering seats has extended to August 15 from June 30. The last date of filling up seats against vacancies has been extended to August 31 from the previous date of August 15.
Beginning of session
The AICTE circular states that the academic session will commence from August 1 for the existing students, except for PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) courses. The classes for PGDM courses will commence from July 1.
The academic cycle of PGDM courses for fresh batch has been pushed by a month as now it will begin from August 1, 2020, and get over by July 21, 2021; instead of the earlier schedule of July to June end.
The last date for admission to open and distance learning courses has remained unchanged, for July and January cycle.
