GAT-B, BET registrations end tomorrow at dbt.nta.ac.in; studentship, exam pattern

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be closing the applications for the Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology (GAT-B) and GAT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2024, tomorrow, March 5. Both the exams are scheduled to be held on April 20, 2024. The GAT-B 2024 score is valid for admissions in the academic year 2024-25 only.
Candidates who want to appear for the GAT-B 2024, GAT-BET 2024 exams can fill out the application form through dbt.nta.ac.in, nta.ac.in. The GAT-B and GAT-BET exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours each in separate shifts. The GAT-B exam will be conducted in the first shift from 9 am to 12 pm. The second shift exam will be for applicants who registered for GAT-BET from 3 pm to 6 pm.
To register for both the GAT-B 2024, GAT-BET 2024 exams, candidates from unreserved (UR), other backward class non-creamy layer (OBC-NCL), economically weaker section (EWS) categories will have to pay Rs 1200. Scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), person with disability (PwD) will have to pay Rs 600 as an application fee.
The GAT-B 2024, GAT-BET 2024 application form correction window will open from March 8,9. The admit card for both exams will soon be uploaded on the official website.
GAT-B 2024: Studentship support
Candidates of GAT-B 2024, admitted to the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) supported Post Graduate programmes in Biotechnology and allied sciences, at participating institutions and universities will be paid the stipend below.
- Master of Science (MSc) in biotechnology and allied science: Rs 5000 per month
- MSc in agricultural biotechnology: Rs 7500 per month
- Master of Technology (MTech) in biotechnology and allied sciences and Masters of Veterinary Science (MVSc) programmes: Rs 12000 per month

GAT-B 2024: Exam pattern
The GAT-B 2024 exam carries two parts, part A and part B. The exam will include a total of 160 questions, with 60 questions in part A and 100 questions in part B. Candidates will have to attempt at least 120 questions in total. Part A carries one mark for each question and part B carries three marks for each section.
