NEW DELHI: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 answer key has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee today, February 27. The institute has released the GATE 2025 response sheet along with the answer key. Engineering aspirants who appeared for the exam can download the GATE 2025 answer key from the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Engineering aspirants can download the GATE 2025 response sheet by entering their enrolment ID or email address along with the password. The response sheet download link is available at goaps.iitr.ac.in. The GATE 2025 response sheet will carry details such as the candidate’s name, exam date, shift, questions, selected responses, and attempt status, enabling candidates to estimate their scores.

Candidates who are not satisfied with the GATE 2025 answer key can raise objections through the official website. Candidates can challenge or contest the questions and answer keys through the GOAPS portal till March 1, 2025. "Provisional candidates are not allowed for the contest, however they can see their responses in the candidates login portal," the official website said.

After reviewing the objections submitted by applicants, experts will release the final GATE answer key. IIT Roorkee will then prepare the GATE 2025 results based on the final answer key. As per the official schedule, the GATE 2025 result will be announced on March 19.

IIT Roorkee conducted the exam on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 for 30 test papers. Engineering aspirants can access the GATE 2025 response sheet by following the steps outlined below.

A new window will open.
Enter the enrolment ID or email ID and password.

GATE Official Answer Key 2025: Marking scheme

Candidates can estimate their probable GATE 2025 scores using the official marking scheme.

Questions will carry either 1 mark or 2 marks.
No negative marking will apply to multiple select questions (MSQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
For multiple choice questions (MCQs), a penalty of 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect 1-mark question, while 2/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect 2-mark question.

The Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE), IIT Kanpur will admit MTech students through the GATE 2025 examination.
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) will use GATE 2025 results for recruitment in Civil Engineering (CE), Chemical Engineering (CH), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), and Mechanical Engineering (ME).

GATE 2025 Answer Key: Financial assistance

A valid GATE score can be used to seek financial assistance for master's and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. MTech students will receive Rs 12,400 per month for 22 months under the PG Scholarship. For PhD programmes, candidates with a valid GATE score receive Rs 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year, as per the ministry of finance guidelines.
