NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has ended the shift 2 of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 February 1 exam at 5:30 pm. As per the GATE 2025 marking scheme released by IIT Roorkee , each question in the GATE 2025 question paper will carry either one or two marks. GATE 2025 February 1 shift 1 exam was overall moderate, according to students’ reactions. Most of the students found the mathematics section moderate in difficulty level and aptitude section easy.
GATE 2025 will be held in a computer-based test mode for 30 papers. As per GATE 2025 exam pattern, each paper will carry a total of 100 marks. All the test papers will contain a General Aptitude (GA) section of 15 marks and the chosen subject of 85 marks
GATE 2025 negative marking
Candidates can check the negative marking scheme in GATE 2025 exam.
- There will be negative marking for a wrong answer chosen in a multiple-choice question (MCQ). For a 1-mark MCQ, one-third mark will be deducted for an incorrect response.
- For a 2-mark MCQ, two-third marks will be deducted for a wrong answer submitted by the candidate.
- There will not be any negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ and NAT questions.
- There is no partial marking for any question.
