Check NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the exam dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, July 12. IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE 2025 exam on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. The exam is held for admission to Master's programmes or postgraduate engineering (ME/MTech) or analysis courses at top institutes in India such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, among others.

GATE 2025 exam will be held as a computer-based test (CBT) for a total of 30 papers. The examination will be conducted in both forenoon and afternoon sessions. The GATE 2025 registration window is expected to open in the last week of August 2024, the university statement read.
The GATE 2025 exam will be held in English language. Candidates will have the option to appear for one or two test papers from the allowed two-paper combinations. The GATE score obtained by the candidates will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results.
IIT Roorkee to conduct GATE 2025
The organising institute for GATE 2025 is IIT Roorkee. GATE exam will be jointly conducted by IISc and seven IITs, which include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. This exam is held on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, part of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Candidates who pass GATE can apply for admissions to master's and direct doctoral programs in fields such as engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. They may also receive financial assistance for these programs at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies.
