IIM Kozhikode inaugurates 17th batch of executive MBA with 548 students
IIM Kozhikode EMBA Programme 2025: The 17th batch has seen the highest gender diversity with 26% female students.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) Kozhikode inaugurated the 17th batch of its Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) for working professionals. A total of 548 participants enrolled in the IIM Kozhikode Executive MBA programme 2025-27.
As per the IIM Kozhikode press release, Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman of Capacity Building Commission and former McKinsey India chairman, was the chief guest and Debashis Chatterjee, IIM Kozhikode director, presided over the event. IIM Kozhikode in partnership with Emeritus has recently launched a professional certificate programme in design thinking and innovation with artificial intelligence (AI).
IIM Kozhikode EMBA Programme 2025: Highest gender diversity in current cohort
As per IIM Kozhikode, the present cohort of executive MBA includes 26 percent female participants, marking the highest gender diversity in the programme's history. Professionals with six to nine years of work experience account for 30 percent of the group, with the average work experience of the cohort being nearly 10 years.
IIM Kozhikode has also announced the MBA admission policy 2025-27. As per the IIM Kozhikode MBA admission policy 2025 , Class 12 scores will carry a weightage of 20% while the weightage of Class 10 scores has been reduced to 15%.
IIM Kozhikode EMBA Programme: Students from diverse sectors and age groups
The cohort comprises professionals from over 150 organisations, with more than 50 percent aged between 30 and 39. Students come from various sectors such as IT, software, public sector, energy, aerospace, education, consulting, manufacturing, automotive, accounting, banking, and insurance.
Encouragement for self-reliant India by 2047
Addressing the gathering, Adil Zainulbhai, urged MBA aspirants to focus on developing a learning mindset to contribute to a self-reliant India by 2047. As per IIM Kozhikode, Zainulbhai encouraged the cohort to make the most of the opportunities by being at the ‘right place, at the right time with the right skill set’.
Zainulbhai shared insights on leadership, growth, and preparedness based on his 45 years of experience in private and government organizations. Highlighting India's advancements in technology and its potential on the global stage, he described this period as 'India's Century’ and discussed strategies for leveraging the country's strengths to enhance its position as a global leader.
Debashis Chatterjee extended his congratulations to the candidates for securing admission in the IIM Kozhikode EMBA programme. He said, “This tremendous response to IIMK’s Executive Programme is a shining testimony to the Institute’s strength, growth and the global relevance of this programme. Our unique academic space at IIM Kozhikode is designed to create aspirations because aspirations are what drive the business and drive a nation.”
