IIT Kanpur to host 4th Gaatha Mahotsav on July 23
The literary festival will start at 9:45 AM and end at 8 PM. Registration for the event is open and free for all.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will host the fourth edition of the Gaatha Mahotsav, a literary festival, on July 23. The event will be organised by IIT Kanpur’s Hindi cell ‘Rajbhasha Prakoshtha’, Shivani Centre for the Nurture and Re-Integration of Hindi and Other Indian Languages, and audio hosting platform Gaatha.
The event will start at 9:45 AM and end at 8 PM. Registration for the event is open and free for all. The event will be held in commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the launch of Gaatha - an audio hosting platform incubated at IIT Kanpur's outreach auditorium.

Principal secretary of UP’s tourism and culture department Mukesh Kumar Meshram, actor Akhilendra Mishra, novelist Manisha Kulshreshtha, film critic Vinod Anupam, writer Naveen Choudhary, secretary of the Hindi Academy Rishi Kumar Sharma and others will share the platform. Various events such as Amit Srivastava's dance drama, storytelling, and shravani sangeet will also be held during the event.
The programme will conclude with a poetry session of celebrated moderators Shiv Om Amber, ghazal artist Azhar Iqbal, DD Urdu director Naz Iqbal, humorist Sarvesh Asthana, and lyricist Bhavana Tiwari.
Gaatha provides users the facility to listen to the works of popular Hindi writers. IIT Kanpur’s Rajbhasha Prakoshtha and the Shivani Centre aim at enriching the Hindi lexicon by fostering a dedicated attitude towards the language.
