IIT Madras Pravartak partners with Agilisium to boost rural education, life science research

IITM Pravartak and Agilisium aims at transforming Regional Interaction Centers (‘Kalvi Shakthi’) into hubs to enhance rural education and skill development.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak has joined hands with Agilisium to boost research in life sciences and empower local populations. The objective of the collaboration is also to improve the quality of education, digital literacy and skills through the rural interaction centres of the institute, as per the official statement.
The partnership between IITMadras Pravartak and Agilisium will introduce digital platforms for remote learning and healthcare. Both the partners will also work collectively on content development, and will transform the institute's Regional Interaction Centres (Kalvi Shakthi program) into a hub of educational 'excellence' in rural areas, the institute said.
Raj Babu, founder and CEO, Agilisium, said: “The partnership marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to driving social impact and advancing research within the Life sciences and Healthcare sectors. Augmentation of Regional Interaction Centers (‘Kalvi Shakthi’) will contribute to rural education and skill development, further extending our impact. We are confident that this alliance will foster innovation, translate data into actionable intelligence, and deliver substantial benefits to both individuals and communities.”
The IIT Madras has also invited applications for its online MTech programme in artificial intelligence (AI) for working professionals and recently, the institute also launched first-of-its-kind cancer genome database to help research on the disease in the country.
"IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation is a section 08 company housing the Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems (SNACS). Agilisium is a data innovation partner for the life sciences industry. It delivers solutions for change by combining domain expertise with data, cloud, GenAI, and advanced analytics," as per the official statement by the institute.

“We are happy to announce a strategic partnership between IITM Pravartak and Agilisium to promote rural education for school children through our Kalvi Shakthi/Vidhya Shakthi program and advance healthcare innovation through joint research. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our shared mission to transform healthcare through education, research, and innovation.” G Veeraraghavan, COO, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation said.
The regional centres, backed by IITM Pravartak, will help in rural development through education and will act as a bridge between technology and education people. The partnership also aims at enhancing rural health programmes through advanced technologies.
“Agilisium will combine its expertise in data analytics, AI, GenAI, and cloud technologies with IITM-Pravartak's research strengths to accelerate digital innovation in life sciences for the next three years,” the institute said.
The collaboration will also work on the development of AI-powered diagnostic tools such as “personalised medicine platforms and predictive models for disease outbreak management,” the institute added.
