JNU to hold JNUEE 2021; CUCET off the cards for this session
The Jawaharlal Nehru University is planning to conduct JNUEE 2021 and has resolved to admit students through CUCET in the coming time.

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi will hold Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination 2021 (JNUEE 2021) as per schedule in collaboration with the National Testing Agency for the upcoming session. The university has decided to adopt and admit students through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test whenever the NTA conducts CUCET, according to a statement released by Anirban Chakraborti, JNU registrar.
“The academic council has resolved to conduct the JNU entrance examination as per schedule in collaboration with the National Testing Agency. The council also resolved that whenever the Central Universities Common Entrance Test is conducted by NTA for all the central universities, JNU would accordingly adapt and admit students through CUCET,” according to the statement by JNU registrar.

The decision was taken in the 157th academic council meeting held on March 22. More than 100 members including assistant professors, senior professors and dean of schools participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the council has also decided to introduce a MA programme in Hindi Translation Studies under the Centre of Indian Languages, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies. The university further signed a memorandum with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and approved a new programme, MA in Audit and Accounts , which will be offered at CAG's premier training institute, National Academy for Audit and Accounts, Shimla (NAAA).
The Central Universities Common Entrance Test for admission to the 54 central universities is in accordance with the new National Education Policy, 2020. The seven-member committee formed by the Ministry of Education is yet to take a decision on the modalities of the CUCET examination.
