Karnataka, AP school timings revised for Ramadan month; schedule for Urdu medium schools

Karnataka Schools: The Urdu- medium schools in Karnataka will operate from 8 am to 12:45 pm in the Ramadan month.
NEW DELHI: The Karnataka Education Department has revised the school timings of Urdu and other minority schools in the view of Ramadan. As per the revised schedule, the schools in the state will operate from 8 am to 12: 45 pm and a 15-minute break will be provided to the students from 10 am to 10:15 am.
The revised Karnataka school will be applicable from the day Ramzan begins and will continue till April 10, 2024. Ramadan will start on either March 11 or 12, 2024.
Additionally, the Muslim students and staff in government-aided and unaided schools can leave half an hour early in the evening during the Ramadan month as they might be fasting.
The decision was made in response to the Minority Teachers Association's request for the authorities to take the needs of the students into account during this religious observance.
AP school timings revised
Apart from this, Andhra Pradesh schools have also made changes to their Urdu medium school timings. As per the schedule, schools in the state will run from 8 am to 1:30 pm. This revised schedule will be continue from March 12 to April 10, 2024. The order applies to Urdu medium primary, upper primary, high schools, parallel sections, and DIETs in Andhra Pradesh.

"The above change of timing shall not affect the schedule of SSC Public Examinations or other exams already scheduled in the state", the official notification read.
These modifications aim to facilitate students' ability to uphold their regular academic timetables and observe their religious beliefs. It also emphasises how the educational system has an obligation to support students from different backgrounds and uphold their freedom to practise their faith while attending school.
