Before the KCET results 2021 are declared, know how scores are calculated and tie-breaking criteria. Students must note that the KCET result 2021 will include details of subject-wise scores, total scores and ranks.
KCET result 2021: How scores are calculated
The exam conducting authority will prepare the Karnataka CET 2021 result on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the exam. The scores of mathematics, physics, chemistry will be added to calculate the total scores of the candidates for engineering.
KCET 2021 mathematics exam was held on August 28 and the KCET physics and chemistry exams were held in separate shifts on August 29.
For KCET pharmacy, the scores of biology, physics, and chemistry will be added to determine the total score.
KCET 2021 results: Tie-breaking criteria
If two or more students score the same marks for engineering and technology, the inter-se merit will be determined with reference to the marks secured in the exam.
- If a tie persists, then the candidate who scores the highest mark in mathematics will be considered.
- If still the tie continues, then inter-se merit will be determined on the basis of the marks secure in physics
- If again the tie persists, then the marks obtained in chemistry will be taken.
- If still the tie continues, -the inter-se merit will be determined on the basis of the age of the candidate, wherein the elder candidate will be considered before the younger.
Candidates should note there are no minimum qualifying marks for KCET 2021. The authorities will prepare the KCET 2021 merit list/rank list of the candidates on the basis of KCET results only.
