NEW DELHI: The Kerala government announced that the teachers will be exempted from COVID-19 duties in the state. The Department of Education has given directions to the district collectors in this regard, Mathrubhumi reported.

The Supreme Court on September 3 put a stay on the state government’s decision to hold Kerala Class 11 (plus one) exam in offline mode amid rising cases of COVID.
Meanwhile, Kerala education minister V Sivankutty had recently announced that no fee will be charged from plus two students for the academic year 2020-21.
It is to be noted that the state government had conducted plus two examinations despite concerns over the second wave of COVID-19. The exam was conducted adhering to strict health protocol from April 8 to 26, 2021.
Kerala on Sunday reported 26,701 fresh COVID-19 cases and 74 deaths. The test positivity rate (TPR) was found to be 17.17 per cent after testing 1,55,543 samples in the last 24 hours, according to a state government release, PTI reported.
