NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra school education department has announced the dates for the Right to Education (RTE) admissions 2025-26 for 25 per cent reserved seats in schools. According to the schedule, parents of eligible students will be to fill the application form between January 14, 2025 and January 27, 2025 through the official website, student.maharashtra.gov.in.
“For the year 2025-26, under Section 12(C)(1) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, children from weaker and disadvantaged sections will be provided 25% reservations in self-financed schools, unaided schools, police welfare schools (unaided), and municipal schools (self-financed),” reads the official notification.
Maharashtra RTE Admissions 2025: Instructions for candidates
The following instructions have been issued for the aspirants:
- Children whose parents have an annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh are included in the economically weaker section (EWS).
- When applying for the 25% reservation, parents should carefully select 10 schools.
- While filling the application, the aerial distance from the school to the home must be determined using Google Maps. Therefore, parents should ensure the distance is considered while selecting the schools. The location of the residence should be accurately set using the balloon feature, which can be fixed a maximum of five times. Parents should make sure the location is correctly entered.
- Care should be taken to fill the application form accurately within the prescribed time frame. During the final submission deadline, technical issues such as internet connectivity may cause delays in submission, so it is advised to submit the application as early as possible.
- If there are any issues regarding the admission process, information regarding the help center is provided on the RTE portal. Parents should contact the help center to resolve any issues.
- Parents must fill the online form with accurate information (such as home address, date of birth, income certificate, disability certificate, caste certificate).
- Children who have previously been admitted under the RTE 25% quota cannot apply again. If it is found that a child who has previously received admission under the 25% quota has submitted false information to gain admission again, the admission will be canceled.
- Parents must submit only one complete application. If multiple applications are submitted, none of the applications will be considered for the lottery. Parents should not upload any documents online.
