Dharmendra Pradhan, education minister of India said that NEP 2020 is the ‘philosophy’, and the National Curriculum Framework is the ‘pathway’ to meet the demands of the 21st century.
NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while speaking at the release of the National Curriculum Framework at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru said that National Education Policy 2020 is the ‘philosophy’, and the NCF is the ‘pathway’ to meet the demands of the 21st century. He also said that the NCF mandate document is the ‘constitution’ for the future of education.
According to Pradhan, the National Curriculum Framework mandate document will change the existing system by focusing on the holistic development of children, skill development, teachers, education in their mother tongue and cultural rootedness. "It is also a step towards decolonization of the Indian education system", he said. Pradhan also said that the Indian education system based on the NEP 2020 will set a benchmark for emerging economies across the globe.
Ashwathnarayan C. N, Karnataka state minister for higher education and BC Nagesh, Karnataka minister of primary and secondary education also spoke at the launch event. According to Ashwathnarayan, education is the only way to a better quality of living in the country. He said that NEP has spearheaded a transformation in India, and the country is moving towards a brighter future. Nagesh said that NEP will contribute to the socio-economic development of India and the welfare of the world.

The National Curriculum Framework aims to develop the education system in India by implementing NEP 2020 across schools in the country. The NCF will be initiated by the National Steering Committee (NSC) chaired by K Kasturirangan, with support from the Mandate Group and the National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT).
"The NCF includes the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE), the National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCFECCE), the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE), and the National Curriculum Framework for Adult Education (NCFAE)," said a statement from the ministry of education.
