NBE-accredited reproductive health courses begin at Indira IVF

NEW DELHI: Indira Vitro Fertilisation has been accredited in the Fellowship of the National Board (FNB)- reproductive medicine course by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) of India. The accreditation is granted to its Udaipur and Pune hospitals for two and four seats, respectively. The company intends to train 100 FNB candidates over the next five years, meeting the country's significant demand for qualified fertility specialists.

The Fellowship of the National Board - Reproductive Medicine course is well-known for its broad curriculum and training methods, which ensure that reproductive medicine professionals maintain the highest levels of competence and expertise.

Eligibility

Medical graduates with a DNB or MS degree in obstetrics and gynaecology are eligible to sit for the qualifying exam, and those who qualify are assigned seats at NBE-accredited medical institutions, institutes, or hospitals.

Course

During the two-year fellowship, selected applicants will go through a course divided into theoretical, clinical, practical, and symposium formats that will cover knowledge, skills, behavior, the delivery of rehabilitative care, and research and training methodologies.

“As per recent estimates, there are currently 1,950 gynecologists who perform IVF treatment in the country however, there will be a requirement of 1.5-2x of the current availability by 2028. The silver lining is that there are over 35,000 gynaecologists in India who can be trained to become specialists to meet the increasing demand of IVF treatment in the country,” Murdia added.

Indira Fertility Academy

Indira IVF's academic wing, Indira Fertility Academy (IFA), has trained over 150 andrology technicians, 200 embryologists, and 350 fertility experts. It aims to add between 300 to 350 fertility experts over the next five years to fill the gap caused by the rise in demand for assisted reproductive technology treatments.
