NCERT 65th Foundation Day: Dharmendra Pradhan launches Diksha 2.0, releases book on Odisha personalities

Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the 65th Foundation Day of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) today. He launched multiple educational initiatives, including the upgraded digital learning platform Diksha 2.0.

Diksha 2.0 learning platform is compatible with multiple devices. It provides structured lessons, adaptive assessments, and AI-powered tools , including Read Aloud and translation of text files in 12 Indian languages. The Minister shared feedback from students who have used DIKSHA, noting that the platform supports learner-specific education and aids both teachers and students.

The minister also released a book titled Utkal Jananinkara Sujogya Santana, documenting the life and contributions of 100 notable personalities from Odisha. “Glad to be with the @ncert family on their 65th Foundation Day. Inaugurated and launched a host of educational initiatives. Also, released a book on the life and contribution of 100 great personalities of Odisha—‘Utkal Jananinkara Sujogya Santana,’” he posted on X.

NCERT’s role in building Samridhh Bharat

The Minister stressed that building a Samridhh Bharat by 2047 requires students to develop critical and creative thinking skills. He asked NCERT to promote multilingualism to foster these skills and to focus on transforming knowledge into competency. He expressed confidence that NCERT would drive educational reforms and support changes in teaching and learning methods.

“Calling NCERT not just an institution but a ‘Gyan-Kumbh’, he highlighted its immense contribution to nation-building through education since its inception. He urged NCERT to embrace its role as a change leader by adopting a new avatar—reform-oriented, tech-driven, and focused on global best practices,” the press release said.
