To a question if there are any changes in the syllabus for NEET UG 2024 with respect to the previous year, the NTA confirmed that there are changes. “Those topics which are neither being taught anywhere in the school board nor available in the latest book of NCERT, have been deleted. The syllabus has been revised and reduced to focus on core concepts,” it said.

The NTA clarified that the NEET syllabus has been revised as several school boards deleted some portions in each subjects due to the COVID-19 scenario. “The deleted portion is still not being taken back by these boards. The deletions were not uniform across various boards. Hence, a number of requests were received by the NTA for the revision of the syllabus,” it said.
The NTA has added some topics that are not covered in the NCERT textbooks. The topics were added as it is being taught in various school boards including Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Bihar School Education Board (BSEB), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Board of secondary education Manipur.
It further informed about a correction in unit 2 in the biology subject, in which it is written – “of an insect (Frog)”. But Frog is not an insect. Therefore, the NTA asked students to read it as “of an insect and a frog”.
