Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that an APAAR ID is not mandatory for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 registration. Candidates can use other means to apply for NEET 2025.
Earlier this month, NTA asked NEET UG 2025 aspirants to use their APAAR IDs and Aadhaar-based authentication during the NEET UG registration 2025, and explained the importance of using Aadhaar.
“Please refer to the Public Notice dated 14 January 2025, wherein candidates were encouraged to update their Aadhar credentials and integrate their APAAR ID. APAAR ID (previously called the Academic Bank of Credits or ABC ID) is designed to digitally store a student's academic credits and ensure a comprehensive record of their academic journey. It is clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET UG 2025 registrations. Aspirants can continue to register for the exam using other available means, details of which shall be available in the information bulletin soon,” the testing agency stated in the latest update.
NEET UG 2025: APAAR ID guide
In order to help candidates with the NEET UG application form 2025, NTA has also issued a user guide for creating an Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID.
Previously, NTA clarified that NEET 2025 will also apply for admissions to BDS, BVSc, and AH courses, in addition to MBBS, AYUSH, and BSc nursing programmes.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to conduct NEET UG 2025 exam in a pen-and-paper mode only, in a single shift on a single day. The NEET UG syllabus 2025 has been made available on the NEET 2025 official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
