This year, 22,79,743 students registered for NEET UG 2026 , out of which, 13,32,928 are female, while 9,46,815 are male candidates.
NEET UG Marking Scheme: For every correct answer, candidates are awarded +4 marks, while each incorrect answer results in a -1 mark deduction. No marks are given or deducted for unanswered questions.

NEET UG 2026: Exam details and pattern
The NEET UG 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2026 (Sunday), in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The examination will be held across approximately 552 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.

The test consists of 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions from three subjects: Physics (45 questions), Chemistry (45 questions), and Biology (90 questions), with Biology further divided into Botany and Zoology. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes), and the maximum marks are 720. Each question has four options. The paper is available in multiple languages, and candidates must mark their responses on an OMR sheet using a ballpoint pen provided at the centre.
