NSDL launches campaign to provide school kits to underprivileged students

NEW DELHI: National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) has launched a campaign called "Chalo, School Chale" to provide school kits to less privileged students across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mangaluru, Sindhudurg and Thane. The NSDL school kit is being provided to help the under-privileged students to fulfil their basic educational needs. The kit includes essential items such as school bags, notebooks, compass boxes, pencils etc. for students in Classes 1 to 10.
According to a statement from NSDL, it intends to support deserving students who belong to low socio-economic backgrounds. For the same, NSDL approached government schools, unaided or partially aided schools and schools run by community organizations, trusts, NGOs etc. The socio-economic background of the students has been taken into consideration while shortlisting the schools and students.

The Chalo, School Chale programme is initially being carried out at Agarkar Night School and Worli Night School in Mumbai. NSDL intends to extend its reach to semi-urban areas such as Shahapur, Palghar and other cities.
