Prayagraj schools to remain shut from tomorrow till August 7 due to heavy rain, flood situation

Prayagraj: All classes from pre-primary to 12 will remain suspended. DM instructed DBT, U-DISE Plus, and other departments to work from home.
All schools in Prayagraj, from pre-primary to Class 12, will remain closed from tomorrow till August 7 due to heavy rain and the flood situation. The Prayagraj district magistrate has instructed all schools to comply with instructions and ensure the completion of DBT, U-DISE Plus, and other departmental works under work-from-home.
All school principals are directed to ensure strict compliance with the said DM’s order. All government-recognized, government-aided, ICSE, CBSE boards, in Hindi and English medium, will remain closed.
“Prayagraj, all schools from Class 01 to 08 of all Parishadiya, Government, Recognized, Aided ICSE, CBSE Boards, in Hindi/English medium, will remain closed from August 5 to 7,” the official notice said.

As per India TV reports, due to heavy rain and excessive water released from barrages, rivers across districts like Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Jhansi, Agra, Kanpur Dehat, and Kanpur are experiencing an increase in water levels.
Additionally, flood relief centers and night shelters have been established by the district administration. The headmasters of the schools, along with the concerned block education officer, will provide their full cooperation for this purpose.
The Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, had predicted heavy rainfall and excessive waterlogging in the urban areas and villages due to heavy rain in Prayagraj.
