REET 2025 registration deadline today; detailed eligibility criteria for level 1, 2 exams

NEW DELHI: The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (RBSE) will close the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET 2025) registration window today at midnight. The REET exam will be conducted on February 27 to determine the eligibility for teacher recruitment for Classes 1 to 8.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the exam, the board held several meetings and made some changes to the eligibility test. As per the schedule, the REET exam will be held in a single in two shifts - shift 1 will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm and shift 2 from 3 pm to 5.30 pm.
The Rajasthan Board introduced negative marking and changes in the OMR rule, besides deciding to hold the exam on a single day. The RBSE REET exam will have 5 options for a question instead of four. Will deduct ⅓ marks out of the total marks awarded to a question for every wrong answer, as per the marking scheme.
REET 2025: Eligibility criteria
The REET exam 2025 will be held for two levels - REET level 1 is conducted for awarding eligibility certificates for candidates desirous of teaching Classes 1 to 5 and REET level 2 is held for determining the eligibility to recruit teachers for Classes 6 to 8.
Candidates applying for either one of the levels will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 550 and those wishing to sit for both papers will have to pay Rs 750. The REET application form 2025 has been hosted on the official website, reet2024.co.in.
REET level 1 eligibility
- Senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education,
- Class 12 or equivalent with at least 45% marks and passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulation, 2002.
- Class 12 or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd).
- Senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Applicants should have completed graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or should be appearing this year.
REET level 2 eligibility
- Candidates should have completed graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or should be appearing for this course.
- Applicants who have obtained at least 50% marks either in graduation or postgraduation or appearing in the Bachelor in Education (BEd) final exam this year.
- Should have completed graduation with at least 45% marks and 1-year BEd degree, in accordance with the NCTE regulations.
- Should have completed Class 12 with at least 50% marks or appearing in 4-year BElEd.
- Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 4-year BA, BSc Ed or BA Ed, BSc Ed.
- Graduation or postgraduation with at least 50% marks and BEd (Special Education) passed or appearing.
