SPJIMR launches online course on data analysis; modules

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has introduced its first asynchronous Data Analysis programme under its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in collaboration with Coursera. As per the official statement, this move supports the Government of India's push for e-learning and digital education. The SPJIMR has been ranked as India's top business school by the Financial Times MiM Global Rankings.
As per the information on the official press release, the Data Analysis MOOC will provide data analysts and business professionals with an understanding of managing data in a business environment. Participants will learn how to apply probability, sampling techniques, predictive analysis, descriptive statistics, and other essential tools.
Pathway to PGDM online programme
As per the SPJIMR release, upon completing the course successfully, participants will be skilled in quantitative analysis methods and understand the importance of accurate data for achieving reliable business results. Moreover, the press release states that completing the Data Analysis MOOC opens a path to SPJIMR’s AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management Online (PGDM Online) programme at the master's level.
SPJIMR Data Analysis MOOC: Modules
There will be seven modules in total. Interested students can have a look at the modules below.
- Course orientation
- Business Statistics: Descriptive Statistics and Probability
- Business Statistics: Probability distributions and Sampling
- Business Statistics: Sampling Distribution, Estimation and Hypothesis Testing
- Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
- Regression Analysis
- Chi-square distribution and Goodness of Fit
Upcoming programmes
SPJIMR is planning to launch several MOOCs covering subjects such as brand management, leadership development, finance, communication, supply chain management, and project management. These courses are designed to equip participants from different regions with relevant and contemporary skills necessary to enhance their capabilities and excel in a competitive global environment.
