TNEA Counselling 2025: Round 2 choice-filling begins at tneaonline.org; how to fill preferences

TNEA 2025: Candidates can fill and lock choices of courses and colleges by July 28. Round 2 seat allotment will be published on July 29.
The Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai has started the choice-filling process for the second round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2025. Registered candidates can submit their preferences of courses and colleges on the official website, tneaonline.org.

As per TNEA 2025 schedule, the last date for filling the choices is July 28 till 5 pm. Aspirants will be allotted seats based on their choices and TNEA rank 2025. TNEA round 2 seat allotment 2025 will be announced on July 29.
TNEA 2025: How to fill choices?
The step-by-step procedure for TNEA choice-filling 2025 is given below.
- Go to the official website, tneaonline.org
- Click on the login button
- Enter user ID and password to login
- Candidate’s profile will appear on the screen
- Now, click on ‘open choice-filling page’ button
- Read the instructions and select college name, college code, branch name, district, category.
- Reorder the preferences if required and lock the choices
The DTE issued the following instructions for the TNEA 2025 choice-filling:
- There’s no limit on the number of courses you can select, and candidates are advised to make as many as possible for better allotment.
- Candidates cannot select a course from a college that does not have a seat in their community or open category. SCA candidates are allowed to select a college from SC community just in case there’s no seat available in OC or SCA community for the respective course.
- Selected choices can be rearranged according to your preference from reorder list, make sure your preference of choices are in the order as needed.
- Once your choice selections are finalised, ensure you lock the selection. When you click on lock choice, you will receive an OTP to your registered mobile number and email, confirm the OTP and lock the choice. Once choices are locked, you cannot modify them, so make sure you lock them after you complete the choice selection and reorder them according to your preferences.
- Each selection of course and reorder is auto-saved.
