In an earlier order, the UGC urged all the higher educational institutions (HEIs) to conduct a three-month campaign on corruption preventive vigilance to resolve pending issues, and implement digital initiatives.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has urged higher educational institutions (HEIs) to submit a report on the preventive measures on corruption as directed by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) by November 30.
In an earlier order, the UGC urged all the higher educational institutions (HEIs) to conduct a three-month campaign on corruption preventive vigilance to resolve pending issues, and implement digital initiatives.
“You are requested to take nocousary action on the Preventive Vigilance measures as desired by CVC and submit the report with the CVC circular at the designated portal (https://gpr.cve.gov.in and also upload the same on the UGC University Activity monitoring Portal (https://www.age.ac.in/namp) latest by 30 November, 2025,” according to the official statement by the UGC.
During the campaign, the institutions will work on the disposal of pending complaints and cases. Followed by organising capacity building programmes, asset management, and digital initiative.
The commission, in its August 1 order to the HEIs, asked them to conduct the campaign from August 18 to November 17. All Vice Chancellors’, directors’ must submit the report through the UGC’s university activity monitoring portal at age.ac.in.
Vigilance Awareness Week
The commission has also requested to observe ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ which is one of the primary tools of preventive vigilance with the focus on building awareness and re-affirming the commitment of upholding integrity, as per the official statement by the UGC.
The week is observed by the CVC every year in the birthday week of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel.
This year, the Commission has decided that Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 would be observed from October 27 to November 2, 2025, the commission said.
"Delay in bringing vigilance cases to a logical conclusion is against the principles of natural justice and also defeats the very purpose of initiating disciplinary action. The Commission has also prescribed model timelines for investigation, implementation of First Stage Advice (FSA)/ Second Stage Advice (SSA) and conclusion of disciplinary inquiries," as per the official notice.
The institutions, during the campaign, should focus on capacity building of master trainers as well as other employees including completion of relevant courses on iGOT platform.
