Authorities have instructed all schools and Anganwadi centres to remain closed, and officials will ensure strict compliance for student safety.
All schools and Anganwadi centres in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, will remain closed on August 23, 2025. The decision follows a severe weather warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dehradun.
As per the official notice, parts of Pithoragarh and other districts in Uttarakhand are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, on August 23, 2025. The forecast also warns of intense rainfall spells in some areas.
In view of these conditions, the administration has directed that all government, private, and unaided schools from Class 1 to Class 12, along with all Anganwadi centres in the district, will remain closed to ensure the safety of students.
