West Bengal 12th Board Exam 2024: WBCHSE suspends classes for primary students on HS exam dates

Download NowNEW DELHI: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has suspended classes for the primary section on the days when WB Class 12 board exams 2024 are being conducted. The West Bengal HS Class 12 board exams 2024 will be held from February 16 to 29.

“This is to notify that during the days of Higher Secondary Examination 2024, all activities including the classes of primary Section at all Integrated primary schools of West Bengal, situated in the same premises along with examination venues will remain suspended for the days of examination,” the board said in the latest circular.
“This notice is not applicable for the primary schools which are not situated within the same premises along with higher secondary examination venues,” it clarified. The exam venue supervisors have been requested to take necessary steps to inform students about the suspension of classes.
The WB Board has also revised the Class 12 board exam timings this year. Accordingly, the board exams will be held from 9:45 am to 1 pm, except for physical education, visual arts, music and vocational subjects, which will be held for 2 hours.

In this regard, the exams for students who have not yet taken the Class 11 exams in the academic year 2023-24 will be conducted on the same day from 2 pm to 5.15 pm.
The board has also instructed the supervisors to make necessary arrangements for CCTV surveillance at the entry gate of all examination venues and in the room of venue supervisors (confidential rooms).
The officials have also been directed to preserve the CCTV footage till March 28 and produce before the board when demanded. The security arrangements have been made in light of the recent board exam paper leak reports and to prevent use of unfair means.
