Free DownloadNEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force will close the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2 correction window today at 11 AM. Candidates who applied for the courses commencing in July 2024 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches will be able to edit the form already submitted through the official website, afcat.cdac.in.

Aspirants will be called for AFCAT at one of the examination centres between August 25 and 27, 2023. The examination will be conducted in two shifts - morning shift will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon and afternoon shift will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM.
The exam will be conducted for two hours with 100 questions carrying 300 marks. The online exam will test students' knowledge in general awareness, verbal ability in English, numerical ability and reasoning and military aptitude test. The test will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only. There will be negative marking.
As per the marking scheme, three marks will be awarded to each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response and no marks will be granted for unattempted questions.
AFCAT 2 syllabus
English - Comprehension, detect error in sentence, sentence completion, filling in of correct word, synonym and antonym, cloze test or fill in the gaps in a paragraph, idioms and phrases, analogy, sentence rearranging, substitution in a sentence and one word substitution.
General Awareness - History, geography, sports, national and international organisations, art and culture, personalities, environment and ecology, Indian polity, economy, basic science based knowledge, science and technology, current affairs both national and international, defence.
Numerical Ability - Decimal fraction, time and work, average, percentage, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, simple and compound interest, time and distance and races (trains/ boats & streams), area and perimeter, probability, number system and number series, mixture & allegation rules, clocks.
Reasoning and military aptitude test - Verbal and non-verbal reasoning
The standard of numerical ability questions will be of matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level, the official AFCAT notification read.
