CBSE board exam 2025 begins tomorrow; key guidelines for Class 10, 12 students, paper date, time

The Class 10 board exams will start with English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature), while Class 12 students will appear for the entrepreneurship exam.

The CBSE board exam 2025 for both Class 10 and 12 will be conducted in a single shift for a duration of three hours. The exam will take place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students will also be given 15 minutes extra time to read the exam paper. This year, the board released the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exam 2025 date sheet nearly 86 days ahead of the exam.
Students must carry their CBSE admit card 2025 and school ID to the exam hall for entry. The CBSE released the Class 10 and 12 admit cards for the 2025 board exams on February 3. CBSE admit cards 2025 for both regular and private students were made available on the Pariksha Sangam portal.
Private students can download their CBSE Class 10 and 12 admit cards 2025 from the official website, cbse.gov.in while regular students who have not yet collected their admit cards can obtain them from their respective schools, as only schools have access to download them.
The CBSE Class 10 board exam 2025 will conclude on March 18 with computer applications, information technology and artificial intelligence subjects while the Class 12 exam will end on April 4 with psychology subject.
CBSE Board Exam 2025: CCTV policy, counselling
CBSE will conduct board exams for around 44 lakh Class 10 and Class 12 students across approximately 8,000 schools. To enhance the security of the exams, the board has introduced a new policy. According to this policy, all board exam centres will be equipped with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) facilities .
Reports of CBSE reducing the syllabus for Class 10 and Class 12 were also circulating earlier. However, the board dismissed claims of a 15% syllabus reduction in the CBSE board exam 2025. The board further clarified that no open book exam will be conducted this year.
To reduce examination-related stress and assist students with their board exam preparation, CBSE has also launched free psycho-social counselling . Counselling services for students and parents will be available till April 4, 2025. The counselling will take place in two phases: one before the CBSE board exams begin and the second after the results are announced.
CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exam 2025: Things not allowed in exam hall
Recently, CBSE has issued a notice outlining the board exam ethics for Class 10 and Class 12 students. As per the official notice, candidates are prohibited from carrying any electronic devices into the exam hall. Failure to comply will result in the cancellation of both the current and the following year's exams. The list of items that are not allowed in the CBSE board exam hall is given below.
- Stationery items such as printed or written textual material, bits of paper, and calculators are prohibited. However, students with learning disabilities, such as Dyscalculia, are permitted to use calculators.
- Communication devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, smartwatches, cameras, etc., are not allowed.
- Personal items like wallets, goggles, handbags, pouches, etc., are prohibited.
- Eatable items, whether opened or packed, are not allowed except for diabetic students.
- Any other item that could be used for unfair means is prohibited.
