Why should you pay attention to the CLAT study material?
If the study material is substandard, you may face many problems, some of which are elucidated below.
-
The explanations of concepts may be faulty; this is the most deadly of all. It is because if you end up reading incorrect concepts, which may jeopardize your chances of success.
-
The author may sometimes only superficially touch a topic, without giving in-depth knowledge of the subject.
-
The language used for explaining a topic may be full of jargons, which may be difficult to understand; meaning you might not be able to distinguish which is which.
-
Absence of examples to drive home a point or concept; without examples, you are more likely to forget or confuse the concept you have read.
-
Many books again don’t have practice sets, which can usually be found at the end of a chapter. These sets not only help you learn how to use a concept to solve a problem but also understand the underlying dynamics of various interrelated concepts discussed in the chapter. Without these practice sets, you may be a little under-prepared unless you cover the gap by solving problem sets/questions banks, etc.
-
Some students also make the mistake of buying books for the CLAT exam which are not as per the official syllabus. The downside of such books is that they may only fleetingly touch the topics included in the CLAT syllabus.
So, it is recommended that the candidate goes for tried and tested study material, especially those recommended by CLAT toppers and experts.
