Exams only for final year, classes resume in August: Jamia

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia university on Thursday announced that it will hold offline exams for final year students while classes will resume for rest of the students in August.
The decision came amidst the alarming increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in Delhi. All educational institutions in the country were shut down from March 16 due to ensuing nationwide lockdown.
The University in a press release said: “Examination for only final semester and final year students will be held offline between July 1 to July 31 in the university. Students are requested to submit online examination forms as early as possible.”
It said that “the classes for regular students will start from August 1”. Online classes, which were scheduled to finish by April 30, have been extended upto May 31.
The administration also informed that summer vacations for the students will begin on June 15 till June 30.
The university has instructed teachers to upload internal assessment marks by June 15 on the university website.
New academic year
The administration also said that entrance tests for university admissions will start from August 1. The last date for applying for the entrance exams have been extended to May 31.
The new academic session is to begin from September 1.
