IGNOU invites applications for MA in corporate social responsibility

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new postgraduate programme, MA in corporate social responsibility (MACSR), from January 2022 session. The last date to apply for the course is January 31, 2022.
“Companies Act 2013 made corporate social responsibility mandatory for many companies operating in India, increasing demand for CSR professionals. IGNOU’s new MACSR programme aims to bridge the gap in the demand for trained CSR professionals,” said a statement from IGNOU.

“MACSR, a programme in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode helps to learn and enhance the knowledge of the CSR professionals,” said Nisha Varghese, programme coordinator.
“The MACSR programme covers CSR fundamentals, process and its linkages with development, implementation and handling of projects and programmes, and corporate ethics, governance and conflict resolution. Students will also have the opportunity to do project work and hence get first-hand experience of CSR projects,” said PVK Sasidhar, professor and programme coordinator.

The MACSR programme course module will span over a period of two years, with an admission validity of up to four years. The medium of instruction will be English. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in any subject are eligible to apply. IGNOU will charge Rs 14,400 for the entire course. Students can pay it in two instalments at Rs 7,200 per year. The course is on offer in both January and July sessions.
