IGNOU launches 13 new courses, including 4 MBA programmes

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) launched 13 new programmes across various schools, including 4 new MBA programmes in different fields. The launch took place during the 29th G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture event, an annual commemoration held on 2nd July in honor of the university's founding vice chancellor, G Ram Reddy. The event features educationists and scholars delivering lectures focused on higher education, particularly Open and Distance Learning (ODL).
During the event , Kapil Kapoor, a distinguished linguist and Padma Bhushan awardee discussed the evolution of knowledge systems, contrasting the oral traditions of the Indian Vedic System with written texts from Western traditions. He emphasised on the value of comprehending knowledge systems, specifically the difference between Vedic and Abrahamic (Semitic) traditions.

- MBA in Construction Management
- MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- MBA in Agribusiness Management
- MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management
- PG Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology
- PG Diploma in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
- MA Geeta Studies
- Certificate Programme in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion – Visual Impairment
- Certificate Programme in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion – Hearing Impairment
- Certificate Programme in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion – Intellectual Disability
- MSc (Home Science – Community Development and Extension Management)
IGNOU MBA programme overview
To be eligible for the IGNOU MBA programmes, candidates are required to have completed a bachelor's degree of at least three years duration with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories).
The duration of the IGNOU MBA programm e is minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years. Students can enroll in up to seven courses per semester, allowing them to complete the required 28 courses over four semesters (two years) to earn the MBA degree. Registration is mandatory in the first semester, followed by re-registration for subsequent semesters. The medium of instruction throughout the programme is English.
