IIT Delhi partners with LG Electronics for research and innovation in sustainable home appliances

Download NowIndian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with LG Electronics India for a partnership in sustainable home appliance technologies. This partnership between IIT Delhi and LG Electronics will lead to joint research projects, co-development of technologies, campus hiring, and knowledge sharing in areas like smart appliances, energy-efficient solutions, and customer-focused product concepts.

The MoU signing was done with Rangan Banerjee, director of IITD , and Hyun Uk Lee, executive vice president, R&D centre of LG Home Appliance Solution Company.
According to the official press release, this partnership will bring together “academic excellence” of IIT Delhi and “industrial expertise” of LG Electronics together in the pursuit of solutions for “challenges in home living and sustainability”.

During the ceremony, IIT Delhi researchers presented ongoing and prospective projects aligning with sustainable innovation. The LG delegates also explored research laboratories at the IITD campus. All this was done to scope out the depth of the collaboration in cards.
“We are excited to partner with one of India’s premier institutes. This collaboration reflects our commitment to fostering open innovation and developing future-ready technologies that align with our vision for a more sustainable and connected living experience,” said Lee in a statement.
IIT Delhi is a centre for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India. Currently, admissions are going on for various professional courses such as computer science and engineering, mathematics and computing, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) counselling.
