Indian Nursing Council amends exam regulations under BSc Nursing syllabus following concerns regarding delay in supplementary exams.
In an amendment to BSc Nursing examination rules, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) has allowed students to take the fifth semester exams without having to clear all the previous examinations. The decision has been taken in view of the representations received from the nursing students.
BSc Nursing students raised the issue of delay in conduct of supplementary exams by various universities, leading to issues with student loan and attending consecutive semesters.
In view of difficulties faced by nursing students regarding delays in conduct of semester supplementary exams, INC has decided to amend the BSc Nursing exam regulations.
From Para 5 on examination regulation of revised BSc (N) syllabus, sub para 16 has been amended. Para 16(i) that stated, “The candidate shall have cleared all the previous examinations before appearing for fifth semester examination. However, the candidates shall be permitted to attend the consecutive semesters,” has been deleted. The remaining sub-paras will remain the same.
