JEE Main 2024 result for paper 2 soon; NTA’s tie-breaking rule

NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 paper 2 result soon. Candidates who appeared for paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning will be able to check their results through the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.
JEE Main 2024 paper 2A and 2B were held on January 24 in the afternoon session from 3 pm to 6 pm. The overall attendance of paper 2 students was 75.0% this year. A total of 74,002 students had registered for the exams while 55,493 candidates appeared on the exam day.

Paper 2A for BArch comprised three parts – mathematics, aptitude, and drawing test. Whereas, paper 2B for BPlanning consisted of questions on mathematics, aptitude, and planning. Both the papers were held for a total of 400 marks each. As per the marking scheme, candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer while there will be negative marking for minus one for every wrong answer.
In JEE Main paper 2 result 2024, candidate’s raw scores will be converted into NTA scores. In case two candidates obtain equal NTA score, the tie-breaking method will be used to resolve the tie which is as follows:
- NTA score in mathematics, followed by
- NTA score in aptitude test, followed by
- NTA score in drawing test, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in mathematics in the test, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in aptitude test (Part-II) in the test followed by
- Candidate older in age followed by
- Application number of candidate in ascending order
