JMI starts self-financed BTech, MTech programmes; UG admission based on JEE Main ranks

Jamia Millia Islamia's self-financed programs are being offered with an annual fee of Rs 1,50,000 for BTech and Rs 54,000 for MTech.
NEW DELHI: The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced the launch of numerous new self-financed BTech and MTech programmes for the 2024-25 academic year. These programmes are intended to give students with higher education, specialist skills, and prepare them for the changing demands of the industry.
New programmes include BTech in Electrical and Computer Engineering, BTech in Electronics (VLSI design and technology), BTech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Sciences), and MTech in Data Sciences. Admission to these BTech courses will be determined by the candidates' final ranking in the JEE Mains. These self-financed programs are offered with an annual fee of Rs 1,50,000 for BTech and Rs 54,000 for MTech.
Speaking about the launch Mini Thomas, the dean of the faculty of engineering said, "The introduction of these new BTech courses underscores our commitment in providing cutting-edge education that aligns with industry needs. By integrating emerging technologies into our curriculum, we are preparing students to excel in the rapidly evolving technological landscape."

JMI self-financed BTech, MTech programmes
The following BTech and MTech self-financed programmes have been introduced by JMI.
BTech program in electrical and computer engineering
The main objective of this course is to create qualified engineers who can improve the security and strength of computing systems, primarily in communications networks, and enhance the efficacy of cyber-physical systems like smart grid, autonomous mobile systems, industrial control systems etc.
BTech program in electronics (VLSI Design and Technology)
The course is designed and developed in a way to train students in this strategic domain and prepare them to accept the challenge of designing and manufacturing novel nanoelectronics devices and chips on Indian soil. The curriculum will be based on the requirements of the IC and chip design industries and will be on par with institutes of repute in India and abroad.
BTech program in computer science and engineering (Data Sciences)
The programme offers students a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as programming languages, algorithms, database systems, data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
MTech in data sciences
This course is a postgraduate program focused on advanced studies in Data Sciences, which combines elements of computer science, statistics, and domain-specific knowledge to extract insights and knowledge from data.
