Maharashtra university students will get extra 15 minutes for offline exams: Uday Samant

Mumbai University also recently issued a notice to all autonomous colleges to provide extra time for students to give their final offline exams.
NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant on Wednesday announced that all university students will get extra 15 minutes to write offline exams. The decision was taken during a meeting with the vice-chancellors of the Maharashtra state universities.

“In the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, teaching and exams were conducted online, which reduced the practice of writing and there was a demand for increasing the time for taking offline examinations. The decision to increase the time taken for offline exams by 15 minutes per hour was taken at the meeting with the vice-chancellors,” Uday Samant wrote on Twitter.
“Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education will conduct its upcoming summer examinations for engineering and pharmacy diploma courses offline,” the TOI reported.

The University of Mumbai also recently issued a notice to all autonomous colleges to provide extra time for students to give their final offline exams.

In a similar development, Delhi University said that the duration of each exam will be extended by 30 minutes as a special one-time measure. DU students who will be appearing for exams in the physical mode after a gap of almost two years will get an additional 30 minutes and more choices in the question paper as a special one-time measure.
